The sign on the door left me stunned, speechless and emotional. What followed were lessons, lectures and protocols on the importance of limiting the patient's exposure to harmful household pathogens. We were overwhelmed by the realization of just how difficult it would be to provide our loved one with a comfortable, healthy, and protective living environment.

What began as basic research turned into a multi-year mission to understand health concerns within our living environment.   What we found was alarming. Even though the CDC (U.S. Center for Disease Control) and the EPA (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency) have issued numerous statements and initiatives, the public was unaware of the indoor environmental issues. One statement from the U.S Government Accountability Office best summarized the issue:

“Indoor air pollution  is one of the most serious environmental risks to human health, yet no agency has the authority to control the pollutants in indoor air.”
